There are 3 common mistakes women make when it comes to planning their maternity leave. Are you making any of these?   

Mistake number 1 - Planning to work until your due date. Do not plan working in your business until your due date. There are so many horror stories I hear about women being in labor on sales calls, or when talking with their clients, having contractions minutes apart. There are so many, so many stories. You may have your baby early. There could be all other things that arise. You do not want to plan to work until your due date. You need time before that to be fully off in case something arises.

Mistake number 2 - Making exceptions for certain clients to talk to you. I get it: you don't want anyone to be upset. But being clear about and holding that boundary is super important. Because if you want to be able to be fully present, you're going to need that space. Trust me: your best clients — the ones you want more of in your life and business — will respect your boundaries.

Mistake number 3 - Leaving a whole bunch of work to come back to after you have your baby. You don’t want to create all that stress for the future you. Plus, you don't actually know how you'll feel when it comes time to return. You might want to come back sooner...or you might want more time.  You might be okay with jumping right back in...or you might want to ease in a few hours a week. You want to support your future self by mapping your mat leave out so you have less work when you come back to work.
